  • Blyth beach today.

Well it is my grandaughter\"s 3rd birthday tomorrow so being the doting grandad I thought I would take her out and get a nice prezzie.

As I am going fishing tonight I also had to go to Scotts at Whitley bay. Aaaahhhh I thought we can go and collect some shells on the beach.

I have never ever seen so much dog crap in one area in my life. There is no excuse for it as there is a bin by the car park that all of these dog owners have to pass.

There is only one thing for it IMHO. All dogs should be banned from ALL beaches ALL of the year instead of some of the beaches some of the year.

    It is absolutely disgusting.

    Disgusted of Consett.

I am a dog owner and a regular on the board and go to beaches in the cleveland area with the dog. I always clear up the poop after he has been for his toilet visit whether that be in the garden or on the beach. I am sorry that this has vexed ya but please dont tar us all with the same brush. These people do not deserve to have a dog if they are not prepared to cleanit up.

    regards

      ditto,

I too am one who delights in swinging a bag of dog sh it around when out with the dog.

I\'m afraid us poop scoopers/sh it shovelers are just the minority tho

I\"m not having a go at the proper dog owners who do clean up.

My problem is with the dirty gits that do not clean up after there animals.

The main problem that I have though is the fact that I had my grandaughter with me and I did not dare let her pick up shells on the beach, such an innocent thing to do for a child but I do not want her to go blind which we all know could easily happen. It is not just scare mongering it is a real threat.

If everyone including dog owners complained about this I am sure that something would be done about it. I will be sending a letter and emails to Blyth council about it.

If they would like I will take a camera down with me or a video camera and give them some evidence of who is doing it.

On a lighter note Ell rotfpmsl I just had a drink and was in the process of swallowing it and nearly choked mate cheers.

for what its worth, the toxicara virus is more common in cat turds than dogs. An the sneaky bast ards bury theirs!

I do appreciate that mate but I would guarantee that you would have been disgusted this morning. Am now thinking of phoning the Guinness book of records for the biggest amount of turds in one area. I did think of a certain football ground before the follow on posts start lol.

Well I sent off a lengthy e-mail,to Blyth Council today. When I get my reply I will post it on here for you all to see as I think it has something to do with us all.

In the said e-mail I told him I was a fisherman that fished that spot regularly(and always took my rubbish home). I only hope (for his sake) that he does not bring that into consideration as it will not do his case much good.

As I have mentioned this I feel that I must say again DO NOT LEAVE LITTER WHEREVER YOU FISH. Please take it home with you as one day your dog could swallow a hook or get mono wrapped around it\"s neck. It would not be easy to defend something like that.

Jim i\'ve got to agree with you on this m8,i\'am an ex dog owner myself,i realy applaud the people that pick there dogs crap up its not pleasant i agree but its got to be done, the problem i find is the ones that don\'t give a damn i think alot of them sneek around in the dark or go to secluded places (beaches, woods etc) knowing fine well nobody will see them.....
I was\'nt going to reply to this post but on Monday evening i spent 20 minutes cleaning dogs crap off my sons shoes and that was walking along a footpath next to a main road.
                            Cheers Alan...

you mentioned you\'d been to Scotts and then went to beach. I hope it wasn\'t Whitley Bay beach after you sent the mail to Blyth Valley as you may eat humble pie. Whitley beach will be North Tyneside Council. If not accept my apologies.
