wondering what folks' thoughts on this are??
should he be hanged, or life in the chokey. Its easy to jump to the 'string 'im up' conclusion, but.... as the 'leader' of a particular branch of Islam who hold Martydom so highly, could be a huge time bomb waiting to go off, should he of been tried in the hague, and had a slightly more sensible trial??
there is an irony that in the last 3 years, bush and blair have had a huge hand in the deaths of potentially as many as 650,000 iraqis according to some reports, which is many time more than saddam manage during his reign
personally, I don't think he'll actually hang, not least for a good a few years yet, he's got several more trials to sit through, I reckon he'll just mysteriously shuffle of this mortal coil in his cell in a couple of years when it quietens down a bit
