Just back from the I.O.M watching the southern 100 short circuit road racing, some really cracking weather for the sailing and also great for the meeting of this famous road racing down south of the Isle of Man.
Some track records broken with Dunlop on The Honda winning a race but the high light for me was Guy Martins winning the 600 and braking the lap record into boot.

I met up with my good pal Peter and his wife and spent some good times eating out and drinking a pint or two and took the little steam puffer down to watch the races.
A great holiday and a brisk sail back with a f5/6 south wind taking us back to Maryport.
Im off again soon to sail up to the western Isles of Scotland and then over to the Orkney Isles.Click image for larger version

    I.o.m

    Little puffer all polished.

Some pics of the paddock and the good thing about the southern 100 is you can meet the riders and walk round the bikes and see the lads working on the bikes.

          Southern 100's

          Hi Harry

It was lovely to meet you and Ian. I hope you had a good trip back. Have you sorted your August trip for the Manx GP yet? Wish we could go over for it. There are some big names riding.

I've attached some of my photos. Hope you like the ones of the Lydia B. I thought the flag looked particularly good. It was certainly an added attraction on the Douglas quayside!!

Hope we meet up with you soon. Don't forget the Sky dish!!

Do I need to bring my ladders to get that dish....haha.

Good meeting you and Peter and I'm hoping to fit in the Manx gp before my Scotland sail away.

Few comments from the Liverpool fans in Douglas(locals) about the flag but hey can only show the best colours from the northeast always ..ha

Yes Peter a down to earth lad and well liked by all. Big pot of tea
He was riding within his safety zone unlike Dunlop on the edge and risking his life all the time, well it seems that way to me.
Dunlop a very good rider with pedigree but I hope he keeps safe as he has a very good Honda team behind him.

Great posts lads. Will have to visit the IOM soon. Never been, even had an aborted planned trip with my mates in 1983 when I left school. Bit fishing and a bit bikes washed down with a few Guinness sounds like a plan.
