  • Shrink tubing

Hi lads. Has anyone applied they're own shrink tubing to their rods and if so what did you use to heat the material.

Wor lass has got a very good hair drier and its red hot but have read that hair driers are not hot enough ??

Do you think it's possible to fit the tubing with a hair drier

Hot air gun is the best but boiling water also works .

Black and decker heat gun works well but be carful not get it too close and keep it moving or you could damage your rod mate

Cheers lads I don't have access to a heat gun so hair dryer and hot water it will be.

Does it matter if the water goes between the rod and tubing ??

Boiling water from the kettle works fine just takes quite a few boils to sort it.is there not someone near you with a heat gun that could help if you had been nearer I'd of put it on for you or showed you how and let you use my heat gun to do it yourself.
