A short news clip highlighting the fact that tope can be killed north of the English/Scottish border but are protected south of the border should be on ITV Border early evening news tonight or tomorrow night.
Apparently viewers from other regions can see it on sky plus or Border - Home - Welcome To ITV Local for Cumbria and the Scottish Borders
We filmed yesterday and within 10 minutes of dropping the anchor had a treble hook up of tope and a Huss all on at the same time on just four rods. With just my wife Christine and I fishing it was pandemonium for 15 minutes.
Watch for the petrifies look of News presenter Tim Bachshall as I passed him a tope to hold
The intention was to stay out until we caught one, The crew were back ashore in about one hour.
Providing the weather is OK the BBC will be filming with us next Monday, highlighting the work done by anglers in protecting UK shark species. This is scheduled to go out on the National Breakfast programme
