Well I got up this morning and planned to go down to South Shields pier but had a change of mind on the way and went to hebburn marina got there for 7.15 it was a perfect morning not a breath of wind the river was like a pond so set up two rods and started getting bites on one rod straight away, after 20 minutes I had a small whitey then another 3 within an hour and a small flounder, thought it was a dab as it was so small but it was only rough down the lateral line, sure some one will advise if I'm wrong, I only had a couple of bags of rag so called it a day at 11am fish were taken on one rod using a flattie rig with green and black beads nothing on the other rod which had a single hook clip down with no beads both hitting the same distance, fish were returned ok hope to get back out at the weekend.

Nice day for it well done on the fishI am a fisherman !
It is not merely something that I do
It is who I am !
Fishing is not simply my escape.
It is where I am supposed to be.
It is not a place that I go
But a lifelong journey that I am taking
It is a passage that was shown to me and that I will continue to show others.
When you understand all of this you will then know me .
And we will fish together

Nice report Darnc, funny how they all took the rig with beads. Have a read of this and bookmark it for future reference mate, defo looks like a flounder to me too but can't really see the lateral line.
Its amazing how many people catch plaice in the rivers in mid winter.
