            Not 100 sure, but i dont think its a tadpole. Snout is too pointy and the tail tapers too fast from the head. I got a tadpole on roker in Jan, pics in the species hunt.

            The one i got is much darker, longer and thicker in the body, with a very big mouth and very round head. The jaw was flat, like pacman, not curved, and it had a pronounced grey white lateral line
            Not sure what this is mate, maybe some kind of Blenny? It could be a juvenile tadpole, but it looks quite different to the one I got. Maybe thunderpants will have a better idea when he gets a look at it. It's certainly an unusual catch to me, well done, one for the scrapbook!

                  it looks like a Common Sea Snail Stan,anything but common on Shields though ..

                      Ive spent most of my life fishing or working around fish,find all sorts in the prawns when your sorting them ...

                        its a .... montagu's sea snail..

                        on the ...sea snail ...the dorsal and anal fins are connected to caudal fin [tail]

                        on the mantagu's they arnt. the one in the pic looks like they are not connected.

                          joe montgomery caught it on a 2/0 hook the greeder little beggar took the hook right into its mouth but not into the gut so it swam away no bother
