I fished the Tyne today. Had one size codling but loads of small tommys. Had good fun on the bass rod. Better than sitting in the house watching tv. Go with light gear and have fun.

Don't worry about no fish at the moment.
It's just that the weather is all wrong and fish have gone away to spawn.
Wants it starts to warm up and settle down the fish will be back.
So give it 3-4weeks and the catch reports will be back up and running.
If you want to catch a few fish go up the rivers for flatties.
There not monsters but still good fun.
But remember to put them back unless you want to eat one or two.
Don't worry about the fish they will be back.

I wouldn't give up hope yet. Looking through my diaries, I've had double figure bags in March and April, a 20lb+ bag being the best.

It's been a poor season numbers wise, not many 1 or 2 year old fish but the size of fish caught has been of a good average.

The fish are there, you just have to realise you're not going to have a session of literally a bite a cast - I had 2 bites in a 3 and a half hour session last night.
