Well, I'm just back from a session on the north pier. I arrived at 0130 and left at 0630. I fished two rods, a light rod with a two hook flapper, and the conoflex with a pulley pennel rig. Both set ups caught fish from the start, baits were yellowtails, mackerel, razor and mussel. I had about 15 whiting and a small dab.I kept 8 whiting and returned the rest. All the fish, bar 1, were a good size. I had 2 double hook ups, one on the pennel rig, which is a first for me. There were only 2 of us on the pier, me and Darren from the Royalty. I was thankful for the company and he had more patience than me in unravelling a birds nest for me. No cod but a pleasant night all the same.
