Fished Hebburn today from 9am till 3pm. Fished two rods one with a two hook flapper size 3/0 hooks. The other with a 6/0 hook and 4/0 pennel pulley, foolishly thinking the recent weather may have brought a big fella up the river.
Chucked every bait imaginable at them but fresh lug was all the fish would take.
Caught about 20 tommy codling (some of them were Scotty's i think) went up hook sizes to stop them but they were even taking the 4/0 pennell. Plagued with them but it looks good for the future so daint mind.
Anyway bottom line no size fish today, but did meet Pugwash, another canny lad off here, think he had the same day as me.
Not disapointed so had a flit down to Seaburn to get some water, was there a boot sale or market on Roker Pier today? seemed like it with the amount of bodies on it. Bet its gonna be bedlam the night and the morra night.
