  • Walkway 2/1

Had a go last night planning to fish the last 3 hours of the flood. Started Ok with a big Dab and a few tentative inquiries on big cocktails of crab and runnydown. Then a massive downstream wind got up and it was literally unfishable. At time it was all you could do to keep your feet as the wind funnelled down the river. There was quite a few on I think everyone wrapped in. One lad had a codling about a pound but didn't see anything else caught.

Enjoyed it tbh mate, just nice to be out. Some good craic too. Would have been more confident with some fresh bait but it was just a spur of the moment job with stuff from the freezer.

If it gets bad you should just walk down to the beach by the Groyne behind the hotel. Lovely comfortable spot and out of tidal drag.
