          Thanks for taking the time to weigh it for me anyway mate. Those spring operated scales are handy for getting an approximate weight but they are never as accurate as digital scales. The spring and sliding mechanism always get a little corroded over time which causes drag giving a slightly low reading. I just wanted to satisfy my mind in the car park that it was a double and when your scales said 10 1/2lbs I knew it would be a little more than that when weighed accurately.

          Just as a matter of interest for everyone, this fish was a canibal. When I cleaned it last night I opened the stomache, it was full of small fish, including a completely intact codling about 8" long which it must have just eaten before I caught it because it hadn't even started to discolour yet. That's the first time I've ever seen that. I once caught a 13lber off Blyth beach and that one had a big flatty in it's stomach, only partly digested. I put the flatty on my fish measure and it was 30cms.
