Hi lads not been on for ages mostly because I've not had anything decent to report.
Fished Blyth beach last night hoping with the sea dropping it would be fish able and full of fish.
Well it started off a right nightmare blowing up my reel on my 1st chuck, unlike me I was only carrying two reels tonight so I stuck my spare on and on my second cast cracked off with no shock leader in my bag I thought about sacking it off and going home.
Sat for what seemed like forever sorting my 1st reel out and got back in the water. No fish were seen anywhere near us so I moved up the beach to find them...........CRACKING choice!!!!! In the water 2 minutes and started getting little pulls so looked to my right to see the lad next to me reeling in and I thought he was pulling me in until he got his gear out and I was still getting small pulls.
Couple of turns of the reel and something heavy pulling in that felt like weed lol had to put drag full on and start pumping it in then as I got into the surf it went mental and I seen a lovely cod in the water but the waves kept pulling it back and I thought I was going to loose it so I just got so close as I could and grabbed it.
Got it onto the beach with my legs shaking and knew I had a new pb. Rang Nicky who ran down the beach to weigh it for me. I thought it was around 7lb but as soon as he seen it he said it was a double. He was gutted for me that it was only 8 oz short of my first shore caught double. I was just over the moon!!
Kept fishing for a bit longer but nothing else for me or anyone else so I got my pics taken off Dave and Nicky and headed home very happy :-)
