  • Smiths dock 24/11/12

Fished the tide up at smiths dock last night from about 6.30pm-11.00pm
    with nesa member Purron
had an absolute nightmare with lost gear for both of us but plenty of takes but all lost in the retreive
even had a lead unclip itself from my rig??? must have pulled the hoop out of the lead
anyways to top that and the horrible rain(i soon relised my ''waterproof'' pants werent) purron caught a seagull
he was bringing his gear in then sudenly BANG!! WHAT THE F##KS THAT!!
seagull had managed to wrapp its wing around purrons line we started to handball it in then SNAPP!!! line breaks seagull flys off leaving two very disgruntled fisherman in its wake!!!
Oh and by the way we blanked!! birds dont count
on a plus side apart from that its was great to get out with purron even though
    we went threw hell!!
purron was testing his new reel but the kamakazi seagull put pay to that
i on the other hand was trying out my new rod a daiwa tdss 120ma beachy
ive totally fell in love with it as its a joy to cast with
so all in all its wasnt a complete waste of time as it beats watching the sodding xfactor

That's fishing , ya never know what's around the corner , that's why we love it , better luck next time lads
      I am a fisherman !
It is not merely something that I do
It is who I am !
Fishing is not simply my escape.
It is where I am supposed to be.
It is not a place that I go
But a lifelong journey that I am taking
It is a passage that was shown to me and that I will continue to show others.
When you understand all of this you will then know me .
      And we will fish together

Sounds like tough going there mate. At least you had the consolation of liking the new rod

yes mark mate im over the moon with it!! my rods consist
of a 13yr old shakespear beachy and a 25yr old hardy beachy
so i think it was time for a bit of new blood to my gear
plus i managed to get a hold of a new spool for my
abu 6000 which are like chickens teeth!!
it casts almost silent now so chuffed with that aswell
