Me and my mate Ian J decided to have a go for some Mackeral this aftey from Shields. We were looking to get some bait to freeze down for our trip to Norway next Feb 2018.
Heard of some good bags so took cooler box hoping for some good returns.
We caught a dozen Mackeral and also twenty Herring. Also few Launce.
All in all worth the look down.
We lost a shed load of gear with the big rods but this was to be expected. Neither of us are big fans of this pier using the beachcasters.
We ended up at Mark 44 and Ian beat me easily with half a dozen Flatties.
