  • Blyth Beach 9/11

3 of us fished 1hr down 3 up. (430pm - 830pm) opposite Astley Arms pub. Good swell, warm evening. Bait:- rag, lug, mussel, razor, and cocktails. Might as well have tried Aunt Bessies Yorkshire Puddings with liver as mentioned in a thread last week. None of us had a knock and bait came back untouched. Tried different casting ranges etc no avail even the crabs had gone to bed. Some other anglers to South of us might have had better luck.
On way back to Cullercoats I stopped at Rendesvous Cafe to check Whitley Beach could only see two anglers fishing bottom of the ramp. Unusually for a fri the beach was deserted.
The experts this side of the Tyne obviously knew something the 3 of us didn't, but still a good night out but a fish (any size) would have been nice.
