My son and I decided to try Seaton Sluice beach, we haven’t been here before and straight away we were impressed with the drop on the beach, at high tide you could be into some deep water. We got set up 2 hours before high tide - it was dark by then. Straight away 2 good sized dabs, a good flounder, a nice coley, then a gradual string of whiting, some good fish, lost some good ones when winding in near surf, as tide turned fishing got better, long casts being more productive. Bait used: combinations of sand eel, lug, bluey, squid, cracking good night’s fishing … a welcome return for the whiting, just let them keep getting bigger, we’ll definitely be back this winter!
