I have been putting off writing this short shore report, but I have been made to post by the good lady!
Lynn was enthused to try to make up bait bombs after a chat with Steve (Codfather145) while we were down in the NE last month and my kitchen hasn't been the same since, so thanks Steve !!
Anyway off we went to the "splash" on Saturday afternoon to see what might be out there. The weather was a bit dodgy but you can fish the splash from your car really, so we gave it a go.
Lynn might think she is a world leader now in bait bombs made with squid, mackerel and crab oil, but she still can't cast for toffee, so as usual I had to chuck her line out for her. Fishing was slow, but the splash cafe is at the end of the prom, so you can get some fast food and eat it in the car when the fish aren't biting.
As the weather got a bit better and dusk fell, we started to get a few bites.
I couldn't seem to connect, but annoyingly Lynn did! She managed 2 doggies and a small dab, while I blanked
The upside was that by this time it was dark and I couldn't figure out how to get the flash to work on my new digital camera, so devastatingly, I didn't get any photos of Lynn's catch
Due to this I thought I wouldn't bother posting, as I always like to have photos with my catch reports, but Lynn insisted, on pain of death, that I write it up
Unfortunately although we will have absolutely no chance of catching a cod in this, or any other for that matter, part of the Clyde, I fear that this may be the first of many winter sessions. I think I will just take a good book and stay in the car............apart for when I have to cast her rod out for her, which it seems is all I am good for on fishing trips these days!
Here is a couple of photos I took on my way to work on Monday when I didn't need the flash !
Why the plastic chair.................who knows? Amused me though.
And one of a big marker bouy!!
It's going to be a long winter !!
