  • Eyemouth favourite rock mark

Well packed up the kit and headed off up to eyemouth with the brother inlaw to fish our favourite rock mark.
Got there at 7:30 there was a nice sea rolling in so set up and baited up with black lug and mussel and just gave it a short lob out , found that a short lob works best as the fish are just at your feet :-). The bro inlaw put out a big crab bait a good distance out to the edge of a kelp bed in search of the COD !

Wel waited about an hour and the action started pulled in a nice coalie at 50cm and in total had 6 coalie's all over 45cm biggest being 60cm the bro in law had 3 coalies all over the 40cm mark but still no COD !
Well theres always next time going to give it a shot next week weather permitting .

Yeah mate we normally fish the caravan park at eyemouth theres a few lovely marks there we normally fish the triangle well thats what we call it because the shape of the boulder we put the rod rest on, just up from the caravan park is the golf corse its a bit of a walk but the cliff marks up there normally chuck up some good fish

Some nice coalies there. I agree, lovely area to fish. One of my favourite marks was the table rocks bellow the cannons. Bit of a scary walk down there for some people, but once down, a great place to fish. Back in the eighties they use to dump all the crab and lobster shell directly over the cliff, this in turn would attract fish right in close to the rock edges, and i'm talking cod into double figures, pollock, large coalies, etc: Maybe not so prolific nowadays, but still some good fish to be had.

Yes Arthur, we used to call it The Tip, for the same reason. Nice comfortable fishing but not the quality of fish there were.
