  • Smith's Docks this afternoon.

Had a few hours at Smiths this afternoon. A few small codling and whiting to start with. About 2 hrs into the flood got a nice lift back bite with a codling if about 1.5 lbs. Next chuck a whiting of about 45 cm. Tide started really pushing then and no more bites. All the fish on rag worm, and I managed to get all the fish back alive except the one I just ate at tea time.

The fog really rolled in with the tide and visibility went from being able to read the clock at south shields to about 50 yds then back to clear again.

I did email a picture to the lads grafting at work but the comments are unprintable and in one case physically impossible.

We have our first Tyne Winter Angling Trophy match for 2012 this Sunday lets hope there are plenty of fish.

take a left at round about next to parks sports centre in north shields if coming from north shields. if coming from howdon way or through the tunnel its a right. then follow the road all the way down to the marina park on the gravel and follow the path all the way along to fence there is a hole you can walk through, then another hole in 2nd fence then fish anywhere along the railings m8. the brick part can be snaggy at times specially at low water.

october probs the best month for this mark. average size being between 1/2lnto 3lbish. i prefer to fish 2 hours either side of high water.

Fished it again Sunday afternoon after our match. Got a nice codling about 2 lb plus lots of small codling/whiting and a size flattie. Lovely afternoon in the sun and great venue.
