Fished just before the gate as pier was closed, took my brolly just in-case the rain started & didn't fancy climbing round the gate, bait lug tipped with crab sorry no monsters but had a few fish you can only catch what's there small codling, coalies, flatties, no whities, I didn't take any mackerel bait so don't know if there was any about, all fish came from the estuary side tried a couple of cast into sea side looked spot on but not a touch.

sorry no more pics had my phone on video

Hi Stan fine thanks for the bait did the job only had 1 codling 2 coleys & 3 flatties can't catch big fish all the time, lost really big tope or small porbeagle at weekend up mog I was out in my mates warrior took of 50 yds at 100 mph 1st run then the fun started I only had about 12 inches of wire I usually use longer leader was bitten, it didn't roll because there was no chafing on the line I've had some really big female Tope in October / November we also caught mackerel coding haddock pollock gurnards we were going to try for bass on Saturday night but too knackered

something to look at bit better than a flattie

yes they work and hold the hook well I tie a loop on the bottom 50lb and use a 10lb link of nylon and panel pin with a bit of foam on, releases every time if your fishing snaggy bottom better losing the weight and keeping the fish
