  • Heugh 04/10/2012.

Had an afternoon at Hartlepool on Wednesday lads. Got some bait at the Friarage and then went on the Heugh. First cast got a skinny whitie.

After a few hours in the sun reeled in and had this fella on.

    Released after photograph.
Also saw a rig being towed out by 4 barges and the Pilot boat following. Been a busy day in the dock with all the tugs coming from the area of the new windturbines.

    Tight lines Mick.

Not sure of any dates for Plaice but i have been using a spoon for a while now on the bottom hook. One of the lads who fishes the Tyne said it was good to use one when fishing the river because when you reel in you might pick up a Salmon or Seatrout. I would only photograph and release if i got one anyway.

Has the gates been taken down on the heugh Mick? Not been there for over a year. Last time I was there it wasn't worth the effort climbing over.
