I turned up at the walkway last night just as a couple of other lads were coming off. They had had a quiet session with not much happening so I wasn't too hopeful. The one lad still fishing had caught nothing either but not to be put off I set up about 2/3 the way along with a box of lug, squid, mussel and mackie. It was high water and with the tide just turning and darkness arriving I thought the fish might come on. They didn't. Four hours later I had only caught two tiddlers (undersize whiting) and two crabs. Hardly any knocks all evening. Still it got me out the house and I got my weekly fix Both tiddlers caught on mackie

Unlucky mate. The fishing has been patchy at Shields lately to say the least.
