28/9/12 west bay

Set off for west bay with sidblank with a sense of hope rather than expectation in these massive seas. On arrival it didnt look too bad so set up on the north side. Well it only took one cast to realise it was unfishable with the amount of weed there. We had a look on the promenade side and thought that was probably holding loads of weed aswell so we moved off to the liitle beach by blyth pier. We stuck it out there for about an hour and a half before calling it a night. Sid did manage to get some sort of eel out he couldnt make out exactly what it was and i was struggling with the weed at the time. As the tide built so did the weed we even stopped off at the harbour to have a look but we spoke to two guys who were having the same trouble so decided just to head home. So a blank for me and sid managed one. Not the best nights fishing but was worth trying with that sea runnin and if it wasnt for the weed it would of been alright.

Unlucky on the blank, west bay did look nice last night when i got down at half 6, was tempted to have a chuck there but just went to the boat house and got 3skerits out before the weed became too bad to fish.

First big seas of the autumn,so i think you can expect a lot of weed at most venues
