  • Good session North side

As title really, had a cracking session on the North side for a change, a first for me. Davey (Blanked again) picked me up around 7.45 this morning and we headed off to North Tyneside to try some of the rock marks, it didn't disappoint either with good craic, a lovely day out fishing with good company and to top it we had fish.

I thought I was gonna blank tbh as I had nowt for the first hour or so and Dave had caught a mackerel and pollock, but then I landed a macky so the rest would be a bonus as no blank today now .

Caught a few mackerel and a pollock each and I managed to pull a few birds, the first one nearly had Davey in the drink LMFAO you shoulda seen him jump hahaha. Yeah I thought I had a fish on, so fighting this said fish and Dave to my right concentrating on his own lure minding his own business when this bird jumps out of the water in front of him and squaks as loud as it could hahaha.

I caught another about half an hour later, big splashes on top of the water Dave said its a fish and I thought wow it must be huge, but it turned out to be a sea gull that kept diving with my lure in its gob. Thankfully both times the birds somehow got free, I also lost a fish that felt big I had a pull and the hook came free doh, Dave caught one of the biggest mackerel I've seen aswell.

We started at Crawleys mate but only started getting fish when we switched to Whitley pipe as the tide ebbed

Undersize mate but i think some bigger ones could be taken from Crawleys casting towards the end of the pipe as the tide floods over the kelp. Sounds like a mission for another day

Yes it certainly does. Think I'll have a session up there sometime with the jellies.
