there was codling took from blyth and whitley bay beach last week but the seas had come away. no good fishing the ebaches for cod in flat seas like they are at the minute wait until the seas are running again.Species 2012 - Cod, Flounder, Dab, Plaice, Pollock, Eelpout, Common eel, Granny Fish, Whiting, Coalie, LSD, Rockling, Bass.Comment

Yeah, a few small ones have been taken when the sea was away, but it's still a bit patchy. Quite a few whitings kicking about as well.

No cod yet from these areas for me. Did fish Seaton Sluice on 31/08/12 from 23.00 until 03.00. This was the back of the Astley on the flood. Me and my mate almost had a fish a chuck, mostly collies round about the pound, pound and half mark. With a few flounders thrown in at high water. All the fish were returned. Some of the collies didn't go back too well though (shame). This due to them taking the baits well down. Still lots of sandeel on the beach in this area still.
This is one of my favorite marks in the winter. Gonna give it another shot this weekend.Comment
