    hi lads
    any cod been caught off the beaches around seaton sluice and blyth area yet

    Not heard anything mate. There have been a few smaller ones off the rock marks and piers though... still not a load there though.

    PB. Ling - 12lb 6oz. Cod - 11lb 6oz, Coley - 3lb 6oz, Pollock - 4lb 1oz, Flounder - 1lb 11oz, Plaice - 1lb 10oz, Whiting 1lb 9oz.

      there was codling took from blyth and whitley bay beach last week but the seas had come away. no good fishing the ebaches for cod in flat seas like they are at the minute wait until the seas are running again.
      Species 2012 - Cod, Flounder, Dab, Plaice, Pollock, Eelpout, Common eel, Granny Fish, Whiting, Coalie, LSD, Rockling, Bass.

        Yeah, a few small ones have been taken when the sea was away, but it's still a bit patchy. Quite a few whitings kicking about as well.

          No cod yet from these areas for me. Did fish Seaton Sluice on 31/08/12 from 23.00 until 03.00. This was the back of the Astley on the flood. Me and my mate almost had a fish a chuck, mostly collies round about the pound, pound and half mark. With a few flounders thrown in at high water. All the fish were returned. Some of the collies didn't go back too well though (shame). This due to them taking the baits well down. Still lots of sandeel on the beach in this area still.

          This is one of my favorite marks in the winter. Gonna give it another shot this weekend.
