  • Tynemouth Pier 20/09/12

Got down to the pier early this morning, about 5am, to be greeted by a large fox just as I was parking up . The sun was just starting to pop up as I got to the end and the sea was perfect flat.

Set up with my spinning gear and dexter wedge. First couple of casts I was into a decent fish. Got it all the way up the wall and just as it came into view it wriggled off. Pollock around 2lb. Nowt else was happening for the next couple of hours so decide to head down to the platform off the back whilst the tide was still high enough. Straight away into fish, managed to land this one this time. Nice coalie probably just under 1lb, back he went.

Hooked into another coalie really close in. I was actually just about to lift my lure out of the water when it struck, decent size too. But, wasn't to be, kicked off pretty much straight away.
Tide was heading out fast so took a chance and sneaked back to the end hoping the warden didn't see me. Ended up with 2 macky to take home for the freezer. First one was a cracker as well.

All in all, an alreet little morning. Packed up about 9:20am just before the rain came and I had scored for a couple of hours on the end whilst the pier was open.
    Jamie.
