  • South Shields Pier 13/8

Fished the slab area of the pier today 10.30 - 14.30 first time out since may due to foot injury so was looking forward to it bought bait on Sunday so was all ready for the off, bait used was rag and bluey had one bite and that was it, think i'll give it a miss now till September a bit disappointed.
Not sure if the lads further up had any luck but the pier watchman said nothing was getting caught.

Was the same yesterday, Very quiet. I fished the rail end from 9.30 to 14.30 with two rods and only caught one Flounder. Even the Mackerel bashers were only coming down the pier with one or two each.
People who live in glass houses have to answer the door.

It could be the South Easterly wind.
I won't go fly fishing when there's a S.Easterly blowing as I have found that the trout seem to go off the boil.
I don't know if it's the same for sea fishing.
      Just a thought.

Yeah reading some of the reports I was confident of a good session good quality bait I even varied the size of hooks and rigs but nothing but crabs stripping the bait just one of those days
