  • Fishing while drunk - with kids !

Well Lynn and I were up early to get to the theatre for the showcase of our final week's summer school. Cast arrived at 930am, looking like only kids can do at that time of a Saturday morning - like the walking dead! Vocal warm ups and concentration games and we did our final run through. Midday an audience of around 80, manily family and friends took to their seats in the theatre, and curtain up. 1 hour later, curtain down, Lynn and I off to get changed and made the 220pm boat to Dunoon. I mean you have to get your priorities right!

Even though our preferred spot was ruined by the seal last week, we gave it another go.

A few on, but space to fish. We walked down the pier and could hear some swearing, as we got to the end there were 2 guys in their 30's a woman around same age and they had 2 girls about 8 and 10 yrs with them.

"F@ck sake, check out the f@cking poof with the pink f@cking sandels"

Oh yes, very nice! (by the way they are crocs, not sandels!).

The guys and woman were drinking super lager and were very drunk, the wee girls sitting on a bench looking sad. We started to unpack our gear, but the swearing and abuse continued, so we about turned and off to Strone. I cannot understand why people with children would behave like that? Didn't exactly make me proud to be Scottish!

Anyway, we put it behind us and set up at Strone.

A huge cruise liner sailed down the Clyde

No zoom on my phone I'm afraid, but it was huge!

Anyway onto the fishing. Plenty of Mackerel today, but most were Joeys really. However we did get some nice ones.

Then things went quiet, so we left the gear on the pier and went for a pint!

However Lynn was soon champing at the bit to get back to the fishing.

So with the drunken neds put firmly behind us, we had some good fishing to go with a great theatre show earlier in the day. Back we went for a second(and last) pint, before heading home.

    Another couple of scenic views.

I realise you must be getting fed up reading about our Mackerel trips, so will make this my last. There is only so much you can say about catching Makerel!

Excelent photo's the haze from the camera quality gives them more character. Some good sport with the mackerel on light gear.

Unfortunately think the drinking and fishing is far 2 common place nowadays in Summers and having kids there just makes it even worse
But well done on catch nd glad it didn't totally ruin your day
Loads of effort for little reward
                      But still love it

Seems to be common place now. Makes me sick whan people behave like this round any kids yet alone their own. There's no need for it at all.
                        Regards Nicky.
