  • filey brigg or biley frigg?

Deffo the latter this time! Fished the tide back on the brigg on thursday night, moving with the tide all the time. A lot of work for 3 tommys. Enjoyed it all the same as the seals kept me company, at one point 3 hauled out on the bay side 10 yards behind me.
Next day (friday) decided to fish the inside of the brigg, 7 hours 4 wrasse, 1tommy 1 small coley 1small pollock.

Beautiful scenery, rubish fishing. Sometimes though filey is awesome.

Like to think you were using crab down there,as it's the only bait
      worth using.

good pictures mate. nice deep water shot

after our banter last time am gonna give braid a shot tommoro.

no place better to test it than the green wall, obviously not aiming at catching owt but crabs, but itll be good practice.
mags on full ofcourse with a stronger set up on the rotten bottom.

will be a good option for the opens up north with a braided reel in the box amongst the distance reels.

see how i get on. 30 quid for 300 yards .

1 crack off and i'll be skint
        .

Nice to see youve taken the plunge mate, you will gain in the long run because I've had the same braid on one of my reels for 6 months and its still perfect!
I used it down filey and only lost 5 sinkers over 2 days fishing. This is because your turning rocks over and pulling kelp out with the extra breaking strain.
Once your confident you will be lashing it same as mono.
3 things to watch though a good bite will pull your rod out of the rest if you don't watch. I use the ratchet. And you will need strong hooks, I use manta extras as everything else seems to straighten just with the rod! And set your clutch! Imagine having an angry cod on a shortish line with no stretch! However none of this is an issue because you know and can prepair for it! Tight lines bud!

Yes mate crab is all I took, I spoke to a couple of lads coming off the brig itself on Friday daytime (I'd fished the low before them) and they had blanked also using crab.
              That's fishing I suppose mate.

Cheers mate, the cliff shot (ben story's top) was very fishy, deep water straight into kelp. But I left after just 3 chucks because I couldn't return the fish I caught alive, its too high up, approx 100 ft. I moved to the lower ledges but it was cleaner ground, so less fish.
My bloody legs are killing after all the climbing I've done haha!
