Friday 27th
Headed over the Mull Friday night, picked up Sigsy at about 18:00 and pointed the car west, arrived at East Tarbet at about 22:00 put the tent up, got a fire going and settled down for "a few quiet beers before bed".
Several beers, and half a bottle of whiskey late we rolled in to bed.
Saturday 28th (Morning)
Manged to drag ourselves out of bed about 06:00, quick coffee and sandwich and we were off to wet a line, quote of the day "we shouldn't have drank that whiskey like mate".
The first fish fell to Sigsy on the float, i was opting for the lure approach. Bait was definitely the winner on the morning session. Although i did manage a few nice pollock and a good Ballen Wrasse on the lures. I must of lost the best fish of the weekend though, had a fish on, about 25 yards away from landing it, it took off like a steam train, stripping line like no tomorrow, decided to thumb it down a bit as i was running out of line, big mistake, my 15lb leader snapped clean off, gutted.
Wrasse on the float for Sigsy
Pollock on a lure for me
Wrasse on a lure for me
Saturday 28th (Afternoon)
After a bit of a chill out, and a good walk to find a new mark, epic fail on that front, walked from west Tarbet north for a while, but didn't find anything we could get down to. So that done we had a bit of a BBQ and headed over to our normal mark at West Tarbet. We both opted for the lures this time and managed a few more nice Pollock.
Pollock for me
One for Sigsy
Managed to get an early night Saturday ready for another early morning.
Sunday 29th
Got up bright and early again and got the kettle and bacon sandwiches on before we decided what to do with the rest of the day, after packing up our tent and having a good tidy around we decided to head back down the front for a couple of hours, this proved to be a good move, the sun soon came out, and the fish showed up in numbers as well, we must of had 30 odd fish in about 3 hours, i lost another 2 good fish as they bullied me into the rocks, but we had plenty of nice pollock, and a PB wrasse for both me and sigsy.
Sigsys for 6lb
Mine for 5 1/2lb
all in all a canny weekend, we also had a few coley and one mackerel, we didnt get any bassing, ill have to get out local for one of them.
