  • Lower tyne estury pollock and maccy

    all right lads got onto pier about 3.45am few lads on end plenty of yts to bait they had bout forty between them we were straight into yts as well
    first light went onto feathers son onto zenith spinner quiet at first then maccy start coming in two,s and three,s and we were all into them
    son had chuck off back wall using thenith spinner and was nailed off pollock had his rod bent double managed to get it up over wall new pb just under 4lb he was well pleased and then it was maccy again they kept comong on then off
    youngest son turned up and about 6th cast was nailed off a bigger pollock managed to walk it round to front of piel to near steps but it shook its head and was gone looked about 5to6lb
    one of other lads hooked into one but same thing as he wwas walking it round to steps he lost it was gutted for him
    i had canny coalie to about 1.75lb on spinner put up good scrap
    then it was time to leave as port of tyne lad came on and walked us off
    all in all canny morning

    cracking session glad i decided to peddle down this morning for an hour. back tomorrow to hunt my lost pollock
    Species 2012 - Cod, Flounder, Dab, Plaice, Pollock, Eelpout, Common eel, Granny Fish, Whiting, Coalie, LSD, Rockling, Bass.

          its tynemouth pier m8 right at the end, can only fish it once pier has closed. which is normally 8ish at night

              cheers for the reply m8 is the ground rough will it be ok to use spiders or normal weights also do you get thrown off the pier or just told to leave

                no probs m8, when you get to the end you have a few options fish into the estuary itself or off the backwall it can be rough off the back wall but i have fished there 4-5 times in last few weeks and lost no gear m8, sometimes snaggy sometimes not. i would used a plain 5/6oz lead in summer grips in the winter. you may need grip leads if fishing spring tides for tide pull.

                have a few goes on the pier you soon see what works and where the snags are. another tip watch the pots as most of the back wall has been potted for lobsters. you can tell by the floating bouys etc.

                  it was gary back there in the morning aswel see whats about.

                      cheers Gary it was busy session for all other lads had good numbers of maccy and in total 3 0r 4 decent pollock hooked as well as well lads mentioned Adams pollock took last night

                              do you park the car in the top carpark and walk down or park elsewhere also is it a hard climb round the gates
