I got to the pier just before 9pm and set up half way between the rail end and the toilet block. Fished one hour up and two hours down without a sniff. Only one knock the whole time. So I decided to have a try on the river instead to finish off my bait and headed over to Brighams for a couple of hours. I was into fish straight away with a double shot of whiting on a two hook flapper first cast. I was kept busy with knocks almost every cast and caught seven whiting and a flounder. Nothing worth taking home but great sport. Baits used rag and mackerel.
