Well finally got out fishing for the first time in ages.So took my packet of ragworm and frozen mackeral to Roker pier.Fished just between the round head and the steps into the bay as there seemed to be nothing coming from the sea side of the pier.Ended up with about 15 whities all on the mackeral, with the worm bait just attracting crabs.Only saw 1 mackeral caught on a spinner and heard of another 3 being caught on the round head.Plenty of whities getting caught ,so all in all a nice busy little session.Kept 2 of the whities as they were deep hooked but they were still about 3/4lb in weight and gave them to an auld gadgie who I stopped to chat to as I walked off all the others went back to be caught another day!
