Fished the pier from 1 til 6:30 with my dad and his mate. Between us we had a little pollock on a spinner, a decent coley and a tiny flatty (not sure if it was a dab or flounder) on bait, we used rag, mackerel and mussel. Rag seemed most popular. Pulled a few crabs in aswell, the little buggers got fed well! Even had one trying to eat my weight! With the bait fishing being a bit slow, not much spinning, quite a few other people fishing were using feathers and there was nothing happening on them, I decided to try freelining rag just down the side of the pier. This turned out too be a good move, was only catching small stuff, a fish a cast, but it kept me entertained. Got a few small coleys, a small pollock, and on my last go a small long spined scorpion fish. We were about 20m from the end of the pier. All in all it was a canny day.

Was it you that was spinning on the end? That was the first time I've fished that pier, I can imagine it being unfishable when the mackie are here in numbers! Didn't realise how narrow it was.
