  • Cresswell - Private beach

had another bash at cresswell this weekend,
    still full of weed,
blanked saturday, tried along by the ice cream shop and the private beach

Sunday weed had dispersed a bit so tried the private beach leading up to high water

4 flounders in about an hour and a half,
all caught at close range on the spinning rod dropped in behenid the third wave using lug

Nothing on the beachcaster at range, still hauling rafts of kelp in

First fish this year at creswell, there has been an unbelievable amount of weed over the last few weeks, hope things clear up so can start spinning off the rocks

Also walked along the beach at low water saturday night, about half a dozen thornbacks washed up in the same state as mentioned in another thread about tynemouth

we've got a static at golden sands
great for sneaking down at sunset for some spinning from the rocks
plenty of marks for fishing low or high water and private beach is much quieter than the main beach up by the ice cream shop
couple of guys on our site go kayak fishing as well

                out again this weekend
not a thing on the lures, dawn/dusk
few coalies on crab over low water friday night/sat am
was beutifull up there, sea like a mill pond, no wind and no cloud, just moonlight
thought there might be a few whities about but no luck
back out saturday evening for an hour to use up bait at sunset
nothing for me, but my 5 year old got a double shot of flaties
few other on the private beach, hadnt had anything when had to take the little guy back for bed

                pitty about the rod snapping,

never us my best rod on the carrs just encase
the shimano only gets used where the footings a bit safer
other rod gets battered and abused on the rocks

willl be up next saturday if anyones about
