  • Whitley beach ollies match

Fished ollies match Sunday night was a mission from the off , registered for match and left car park to head up to newbiggin.

pulled into the shop to get batteries for my head lamp only to receive a call saying I had left my head lamp on the table at home , gutted ha.
So a drove back to Wallsend to get my hat and lamp, then drove down the coast first choice was slaties had a look then decided to try Whitley beach first time in 3 year.

Got set up and joined a bloke fishing ollies match called phil never got his second name . First cast and had a big slack liner wound down to a other thump and struck , only missed it was gutted. Phil moved as we were joined 3 on the mark then other bloke moved down beach to Had mark to my self resulting in my first fish on 3rd cast then same again fish on my 4 cast .

Fished rest of the ebb missing two more good bites, then went quiet till it started flooding and had a hour to go , putting a big bait on and casting in, put my rod on rest whilst I had a **** and when a picked it up it was going again . Guess what stuck and missed a other one .

Just wished a was rigged up for the clean to mixed ground and had circle hooks on top of pennel .
Instead of a 5/0 then 3/0 on top . Not that am making excuses like ha . Could of been a good bag .

Still a good session and a cracking weigh in at ollies . Couple of doubles and a good few double bags . Well done lads .

Na sea was blowing from the north m8 nice little sea on. Be no good now the westerly winds flattened the sea off . If a was to try anywhere in these conditions would be Hartley skier may hoy a fish out .
