Fished the cobble landing last night with the lad, bait used was fresh peelers, rag, bluey, mackerel, mussle = BLANK. I didn't even get a bite, the lad was saved a blank by an 8" whiting, very poor session.

LOL true lads so true, but the blank doesn't taste so good with chips and mushy peas, it doesn't look good on the plate either.

Cheers lads, 20 quid of bait for a blank is a bit of a p*$$** but as said that's fishing, fingers crossed next time.

It's the taking part that counts Pete. I fished from the rocks near the gun turret last week, used macky n lug. Not a nibble, tried a few o them limpet things stuck to the rocks, had a flounder and a dab But like some lads said, if they ain't there, they won't bite.

Shame on the blank mate, at least the youngin caught something.

Should've fished some more productive marks that have been producing at the minute (customs house, Brighams, The Angel), only 5mins either way from where you fished.

Well done on at least getting out and trying.

Cheers for the replies lads, aye Andy it wasn't my idea to fish the landing it was the bairns, so I blame him.

I had planned to fish the walkway or pier, the bairn didn't want to fish anywhere snaggy, next time though there will be a fish for the plate.
