Hello again and welcome to the adventures of me and scotty. Seriously, read on. We've had one hell of a day.
It all started 9.30 this morning, when it suddenly dawned upon us that the bus that was timetabled for 10am last year was no longer in service. Meaning our next bus was at 11.30, not something you want to hear at 9.30am. So we decided lets waste some time, and got the bus to alnwick.
With a nice 2 hour bus journey behind us we chilled, went to morrisons and waited for our bus, and was greeted by many fine people, including a man from hadston that was annoyed he had to travel for 3 hours to sign on with the doal every day, and that he'd rather play on burnout or throw children through shop windows than do that. (Seriously) Moving on!
Our bus came, we got to craster for around 1.30, emptied our bladders and I checked the bus times. Haha you'll see why that's in bold later. And off we went for the trek to the castle. Sounds pretty normal doesn't it... Well, totally mistaken. We had a lovely session, took some photo's listened to the radio, watched the seals. But unfortunately no cigar, and no fish. So at 5.50 we packed up and headed off for a bus that came at 6.50.
And this is where it all went wrong...
Unfortunately lads our bus came at 6.38 and this was the last bus home. Hahahaha... Mission get home to Newcastle had begun.
We waited for the next bus that was on its way to bamborough castle, and asked the driver how we would get home. And he said well, you could get on this bus to bamborough, then this bus goes to alnwick from there, and then you could get the bus home from there. And well, this is what we did, what other choice did we have.
We were now on a bus heading 15-20 miles in the wrong direction, to come back on ourselves so we could get home. What else could go wrong well... The bus driver decided he was hungry when we arrived at bamborough and decided he was gonna go for a bar meal, so he locked us on the bus, turned all the lights off and did just that. Leaving us to chill on the bus... Haha!
Then when he eventually returned we were off! Off to alnwick! Still miles from our destination and laughing our heads off at the mistake i had made and misread the bus timetable. Seriously lads we had an amazing day, even tho it started bad it ended up being an amazing day, and i realised something. Sometimes its not catching fish that matters, its enjoying fishing that really counts. And today is a prime example of that.
It all ended with a Chinese takeaway to polish off a cracking day
Cheers Lads !!!!!
