4 of us went up early this morning. Total amazing day to be up there. And the lack of wind made the walk half enjoyable!! Ha.... Fishing was hard going for couple hours then my pal caught a Tommy, an hour later a seal popped up and then dived right nxt to my line, straight away my rod nearly bounced out stand!! Thought it was seal, wound in and struck feelin the fight of the fish, new I was into a Cod.... Ended up in a nice fish, 3lb 2...
Next cast same kind of knock but struck into it but it came off halfway through retrieving...
Gutted fish up there and went to wash it in sea, ended up getting caught by a rogue wave on my hands and knees, soaked!! Made my pals day!!! And my fish almost escaped!!! HAHA....
Perfect Day weatherwise to be there....
Looking forward to gettin up there in summer with spinning gear...

Me m8 who I was with, came out the castle arch way, on way home, holding his chest, and he was white, said he thought he was having a heart attack!! He's in his 50s and not the fittest should we say!! I had to carry his gear back to car!! I was gana hide in the archway alcove and jump out!! Good job i didn't!! Haha...,

Nice one Nest, cod are very rare at the moment. Well done to you. That looks a great venue to fish, I will have to try it soon. I have blanked 5 times in my last 7 outings searching for cod. A flattie and 2 whiting saved the blanks on the other 2 occasions. I think I am going to have to downsize my 5/0 pennel rigs to something a bit smaller while I wait for the crab to start peeling.
