  • Tynemouth outdoor pool

Dusted the gear down and headed down to the old pool in Tynemouth for a few hours of high tide tonight. Had some Ragworm, Lugworm and first time out with some cart. A few bites but nothing brought in. Seen a million small fish over the side darting about as if something was chasing them so tackled up the spinning rod and low and behold caught a few mackerel. Didn't realise they could be caught in September still, never mind a few yards over the side on Tynemouth pool. Decent night.

The mackerel are still quite thick on the ground mate. They have been catching them from marks inside of the river mouth as well... Well done on getting a few fish out

I think it must be because of this warm weather we're still having (for now anyway) plus the fish seem a bit bigger than I remember from years gone by. Makes me want to get back into fishing a bit more.
