Are there any productive beach/rock marks around marsden bay? It looks good but a bit of local knowledge is always helpful. Not to bothered about any particular species, just like to catch whatevers feeding!

Hi
Fish from the stone steps over high water and the first of the ebb on big tides. Holmes's gut (30 yards left at the bottom of the steps) fishes well on a medium/heavy sea 3 hrs after high water down to low, on bigger tides this area empties out before low water.
All along the beach fishes well on the ebb, hot spots being the area in front of the large detached rock stack (pinnacle) and to the the left hand side of marsden rock.
Half way through the ebb the rocks to the right of marsden rock become accessible casting into the first bay, moving out with the tide.
The flat rock behind marsden rock is accessed over low water by a gully that empties and fills with the tide so care is needed here, cast left towards camels island or from the right hand corner into the first bay.
Tons more marks south into the bays, but for marsden area, cant really go wrong with these marks.
Hope this helps

Hoping to get down to marsden one day early next week while the bairns at school if the tides are right for me so ill let you know how i get on.
First time down there for me so its all new, anyone have idea on the best baits to try and bag a decent codling? Will be fishing a pully pennel rig with 4/0 & 2/0 hooks so will probably be using cocktail baits???2011 : Coalfish, Codling, Common Eel, Dab, Flounder, Launce, Plaice, Whiting.
2012 : Whiting
