  • Tynemouth Pier club match 08/12/11

Just finished my last Thursday match of the year and was rewarded with a fine 4lb 8oz codling gave me a canny scrap in the swell the fish took a size 2/0 pennel rig with 5 lugworm tipped with a chunk of mackerel. I thought i was gonna be in for a day of cod but it was the only one caught high tide came in around 2pm and we had an hour left then the whitings came on the feed 2 a shot really good days fishing but huge gaps between fish made it a very wet and windy wait but got there in the end another 10pts in the bag.

    Bait used Lugworm mackerel squid.

It was insane Charlton the wind was blasting water in your face you couldn't see was really hard to cast with wind in face and we got soaked but it was worth it lol

I am still not well enough to fish - especially in the conditions you lads faced today. With luck I may be a bit better next week and ease myself back with a couple of hours easy fishing from The Walker Riverside.

PS Stephen - I have updated the club website tonight. Well done on winning the Midweek League - you have deserved your success.
