Well done on the fish bud I was fishing there last night but got fed up by 11 so packed in as baits were coming back untouched. I new I should have stayed longer gutted now lol. What bait were you using to get them I was on peeler and mussel. I was fishing south end of the beach near the viaduct and was getting dragged about allot even with a 7oz gripper.

you must have been fishing just to the right of me.there was 3 lads just to my right ,2 fishing together and 1 lad by himself, dont know how you had trouble holding bottom cos i was using a 2 hook trace with a 5oz grip and a single hook(pennel)trace with a 6oz grip and held no bother.i know what u mean about bait coming back untouched and no bites,i was the same for the first couple ov hours, but where u were fishing is best fished over the top of the tide(2hrs either side) even if u dont get fish up 2 high tide its always worth giving it a couple of hours back water. I caught all the fish on big lug baits,i also had rag and a load ov different frozen bait including crab and mussel but the fish were not interested.

Hi mate thats right there was 2 lads fishing together just to my left I had a word with them when I left and only minutes after they packed in as well. Wish I had stayed but I had been down through the day as well and had no luck mind I only had peeler and mussel. Not sure what was going on holding the bottom but I had a 7oz gripper and a few times I wound in and the wire were still in place. I was getting dragged to the right and on my final cast the lead got put back up the beach. Mind I have fished further along where you were and not had that problem in similar conditions. Still you got a good result well done I will be back up there soon armed with plenty of fresh lug. Tightlines Chris
