A whiting saves the day

I fished the walkway today 11am to 4pm absolutely nowt coming out, 2pm came and a lad along from where I was pulled in a decent whiting. Then about 30 minutes later I had a knock and slack line thought I was into my first codling, it was not to be as it turned out to be a 40cm whiting.

Baits used were squid and bluey, I was going to grab a few peelers from taylor's when I was passing but they had a load of police there in stab vests turned me away. I have no idea what was going on like but they were all over the entrance to the yard.

At least you didn't blank Pete. I fished the same length of time there on Tuesday and caught nowt. Hope the fishing is better tomorrow night, we'll probably end up at the Walkway as usual.

Not a bad sized whiteing as said saved a blank, North of the Tyne seems to be fishing well at the moment, Lyneburn beach is fishing its T**ts off.
