Still good sport with the whites mate, you don't need a cod to have a good time but it does help
A bad days fishing beats a good day working

I'm hoping they sort out the Riverside Park at Jarrow near the pedestrian tunnel following the tunnel works. I had a look there on Friday and it looks promising. Don't know what the plans are for the place, but by the landscaping it looks like the park is being restored. Hope so, a fishing mark that I can walk to.
The place near the police launch looks really rough now. It used to be a smashing spot a few years ago when the grass was mown to the edge. Must be the cuts eh?

So do you fish down near the police launch site? I have never tried it, any hints on fishing the spot? Car parking etc? Cheers

You can get access by driving into the Viking industrial estate and head down towards the river, You will see the police hq ahead and there is a small layby just up from it, I normally just park there. Usually only the people walking their dogs that park there for a short time so you can usually get a spot.
Oh and you will need a rod stand, no railings.

I have never found it snaggy but I do give it a good old whack when I cast. Don't know what it's like closer in.

Very snaggy I think especially close in. It's quite a steep bank of rocks you need to reel in over, have a look on a low tide you'll see what I mean. First 3 casts I lost weight and at least one of the two hook I was using

can be like the walkway with the high tides specialy near the police station fence.take a stand and head halfway up towards the staiths .better fishing as the tide is almost up 1.1/2 before same after.

just left after where this lads sitting is a break in the bushes

the lad in the black jacket is right on the spot, casting strieght out the area in front has been cleared so to speak.once ya lift the rod reel like the clappers and keep ya rod tip up.colies whiting ,flattys,n codling.rag maccy bluey lug n crab.

what its like at low water.
it can be fished at low water but its a climb down and not that good underfoot.
