  • Bottom of the Big Beach S/S

Just got in from an hour or so on the lures.

Tried the bottom of the big beach at S/Shields in search of the illusive Silver Bar....

With the tidestate, lighting & weather not in sync, I wasnt expecting much. I was mainly out to wet the line on my new rod and reel before the end of the season.

Sea was calm, flat and relatively clear. I fished last light for an hour or so into darkness, waded in up to my waist and second cast pulled out a surprise Mackeral!

alas no Bars of Silver tonight... but not a completely wasted 90mins and great fun on very light gear!

Apologies for the top picture the bugger would'nt keep still!!
    Regards
    Si

Isn't great how people who don't have a clue stick their oar in without thinking. Under the thumb comes to mind.

Well I was refering to 'The fish we must not speak of....' lol

......otherwise known as: Dicentrarchus Labrax or 'Bass'

but hey, I suppose any fish which has Silvery flanks could be a Silver Bar.....

it's just terminoolgy at the end of the day and it differs wherever you go.....
