Well lads it was gloves off today on the hunt for my first Bass. Thought i,d try an old favourite. The wind was a pain but there was a lovely surf on.

Nowt doing close by the Gare in so i moved along the beach. The big guns came out as sea was heavy.

No Bass for Mick but saved on blanking with a couple of postage size dabs. As sea got up tried the Bass rod and reel.My first dab

    Second dab.

It was a good day and i enjoyed myself. Full beach to myself apart from a couple of dog walkers and horse riders.
    Tight Lines Mick.

Fished it yesterday morning 6 till 10, started off near the little concrete platform on L/hand side but just kept getting weeded up, went a bit further up but still to much weed, we ended up near the end which wasnt too bad but still never got bite, thought there might have been something about with a nice surf on, the wind spoiled it a bit as nearly lost rod & tripod over the side, at least you never blanked mick well done.

Bill still prefer Hartlepool but my old fella is in a home now and cannot get into my car as legs have gave up. Used to love taking him out for fish and chips at Verrils checking out the spots around the Headland buying cracking bait from Friarage then when i dropped him off return for day/nights fishing.
Looking at some diffo spots this season and the rivers are high up on my list. Tried few spots but one of the best was Walway. Also like the Glass centre.

Good post Mick, pics are spot on. Unlucky not to get a codling in that sea though.
