  • Mill dam this week

    took my mates to the mill dam saturday
    I caught a 40 cm flounder on a hand line!

    went today with my mate
    it was his first time out and he caught a nice sized coalie!
    i caught 2 flounders around 33-36cm

    whats with all the flounders there! too many
    and crabs there is millions of the little criters

    any way all fish caught on fresh peeler and also and returned exept the coalie which me mate kept to feed the family
    Dad!...I think im snagged.... oh wait its a fish on!

    Well done matey.

    I fished there on sunday and had nine fish out, 3 of the nine i kept for tea, 3 flounders, the biggest being 43cms and weighing a tad under 2lb.

            Hey they were as clean as a whistle and pure white underneath, a sign there are clean. Cook properly, they will make a fine meal

              although the 40 cm one was clean and chunky but I didnt take the chance

                Unless you've been catching yours on fizzy cola bottles sweets mate flounders do not taste sour. I've ate them from there many a time and had no problems. Propetly filleted them and properly cooked, taste delicious, and more to the point, taste like FISH!! HAHA

                      His dad's a chef we just don't like them, personally it's not the taste that I don't like it's the texture. But yeah they are a fish lol dunno why he describes them as sour lol Lenny.

                        Got to agree with Lenny on this one, I don't like them either! Best thing you can do is drown them in garlic butter or something to take away their taste! lol
