just back fom port carlisle 26/7/11

i woke up at 5am in the car and woke my son up. 30 mins later we were down on the beach fishing. we had a long fishless wait til the tide started flooding around 7-45am. as soon as it started flooding (no tidal bore visible either yesterday or today) the fish came on, a steady flow of good quality flounders, lots of double shots, not sure exactly how many i had this morning but must have been approx 30 and my son had a fair few too we were both using two rods, all fish except 1 came on fresh crab the odd one out came on rag. we packed up at 11-30am. the weather was perfect warm and sunny with very little wind, all in all an enjoyable trip with loads of good flounders (most returned a few deeply hooked ones kept for the table)
